Oak Avenue Recreation Land under threat
Bury Council is considering plans for 9 houses on the well-used recreation field at Oak Avenue, Holcombe Brook. This field is not surplus land.
Bury already has enough housing land. Major Places for Everyone sites will deliver over 6,000 new homes(Elton Reservoir, Walshaw and Simister Bowlee). The Council’s own Local Plan shows a surplus of housing land.
What is part of the formal application?
The formal application (Permission in Principle – reference 73515) only seeks approval for:“the construction of up to 9 detached dwellings with associated residential curtilages and parking arrangements” (everything else is just illustrative)
Don’t let them take our local green space.
What you can do:
Keep this field for our children and community.
